Dr Doug, those firework bans are a joke. Our local newspaper said the sheriff would have 12 units out the night of the 4th, looking for fireworks. Well, we had 2-1/2 hours of bedlam, with no black and whites to be seen. Thankfully, it all seemed to be groundworks, no aerials or bottle rockets such as we've seen in the past. As far as I know, there were no fires. whew! The hills around us are as dry as a potato chip.
