Just saying hello

My name is Little Missy Foo Foo (Missy for short) and I'm a Lhasa Apso, I used to be called Squishy before my current owners got me from a Rescue Society. I wanted to get on the forum here to see if I can find out what all the excitement is about this thing called CAMPING? I've never heard of it before and they keep talking about not being able to wait till spring with they can uncover and de-winterize this big thing beside the garage called a Motorhome? I can't see how a home can have a motor or what they do with it. If possible could the other pets here on the forum help me understand this camping thing. I can only guess it'll be fun because my owners get so excited when they talk about it. Two weeks ago they took me ALL the way to Tampa to see these things called RV's but I couldn't see much because it was so crowded and I couldn't run around inside these RV's. Thanks you Missy.

  • Hi, Missy! My name is Prissy (short for Polly Prissy Pants). My Mom has never mastered posting pictures here, but I am a little black terrier. I only weigh 14 pounds, but I have very big ears and very long legs. It took me a while to get used to camping--the camping part was all right, but I did not like all the riding or looking out the big window, so I just stay on a blanket behind Mom's seat. We have been to lots of places, but my two favorites were the Oregon coast (where I could run free on the beach) and Big Bend Natl Park in Texas (not a lot of people and lots of beautiful scenery). One of my favorite things, though, is just to relax outside the rv with Mom & Dad (preferably on my blanket atop a picnic table), take long walks, and meet new friends along the way.
Hope you have fun with your family and meet lots of new friends, too!
  • Welcome! Camping is awesome, you get to meet new people & dogs, and lots of new smells. We love camping , especially Misty she just bounces all over when the camper gets hooked up. We need to see pictures. Misty & Daisy

  • Missy this is just one of the things you will love about camping, walks on the beach.
  • My name is Lily E Pad. I am called Lily or sometime my puppy nickname of Squirt Bottom. I don't know where that came from or what it means!! Anyway I am now 1 Y O. I actually went off in a motorhome from my mother's house. I thought that would be where I would live and I loved it!! I love all the camping I do - so many smells and sights!! Some many birds and squirrels (they won't let me chase them and keep me on a lead. It seems to make my human companions and my 2 sisters and 1 brother just as happy. One thing I do not understand is why my human companions like my poop so much. I never leave it in the motorhome or house for them, but when we are walking they always pick it up into a bag!! Oh well! Missy, you will have a great life!

  • Missy, you're going to love it! It's like riding around in a BIG CAR. Except you aren't allowed to stick your heads out the window. We've tried, but Dad yells something about not being able to see the mirror. He's supposed to be keeping his eyes ahead, anyway. We stop often to get out and smell all the great new places and, of course, exchange pee-mail. At these places called campgrounds, we get to meet new people, new dogs and more new smells and, of course, exchange pee-mail. We meet so many new friends and get to take long walks with Dad. It's great fun for all of us. Oh yes, there are lots of squirrels and bunnies. :B

  • Well hello missy my name is Jake I'm a 4 year old lab-Shepert mix, And I just came back from the FL, Keys and had a great time, Hope to meet you sometimes...
  • Welcome Missy. The Golden Retriever rescue folks called me Missy but my forever family calls me Molly. You are gonna like camping. I know we are going when Mom puts my toy basket in the Little House. There is lots of riding in the truck which is pretty boring, but you are with your people. If you look really sad you can get a Milk Bone for breakfast AND lunch. SMELLS oh so many SMELLS!!! Lots of walks (did I mention SMELLS?). Lots of people - I love getting petted and called Pretty Girl. My people know I love to swim (YAY YAY SWIM) and I get to swim a lot - the water sure was cold in NY last year! Mom said I get to go to the doggie beach in Florida in a couple weeks. I am ready to go. We had that stuff they call snow that I remember once before when I was about 2 yrs old, it is fun to play in but it makes ice balls on my feet.
  • Well Missy I think your going to have the time of your life! Your going to meet other doggies, lots of people that also love to camp with their furbabies.
You may get to hike some trails or swim in the ocean (at least play in the surf) and take long walks around the rv parks.
Trust me you are going to love it!
