Meet Hearing Dog Raylene from Dogs for the Deaf

Raylene arrived from Oregon ten days ago and now is my working partner - and she already holds the keys to my heart, too.
I want to thank all the Good Sam Club chapters around the country that have ever donated money or held events to benefit Dogs for the Deaf. It is surely one of the finest nonprofits I've ever seen up close, and about the most professional organization I've ever had contact with in my entire life.
They locate unwanted dogs from shelters (or in Raylene's case, from Guide Dogs for the Blind because she didn't pass the physical), and train them as Hearing Dogs for people who need help because of severe hearing loss. The dog is provided at no cost to the recipient other than a small application fee. I'd invite anyone to send me a private message if you'd like more information on this fantastic organization.
