Monitoring RV when away?

I have a couple small, crated dogs. When I am gone they are quiet, lay down and sleep. I would like some kind of monitoring system for inside the RV so if I leave for something I can check and make sure the dogs are cool enough, or send a text message if the temp increases. I have a Verizon hot spot on my tablet for internet connectivity. I connect my computer to the internet thru the Verizon hot spot. My "dumb" phone does get text messages.

Does anyone have a monitoring system either that plugs into their computer, OR, can be set up to connect to the hot spot?
