Monitoring RV when away?

I have a couple small, crated dogs. When I am gone they are quiet, lay down and sleep. I would like some kind of monitoring system for inside the RV so if I leave for something I can check and make sure the dogs are cool enough, or send a text message if the temp increases. I have a Verizon hot spot on my tablet for internet connectivity. I connect my computer to the internet thru the Verizon hot spot. My "dumb" phone does get text messages.

Does anyone have a monitoring system either that plugs into their computer, OR, can be set up to connect to the hot spot?

    They have come a long with with monitoring devices. It's so easy and inexpensive now.

    Just google Nanny Cams there are hundreds to choose from and very reasonably priced. Can monitor from computer and even phones now.

    As far as the temperature goes just buy a thermometer and place it within view of the camera.

    IMHO the best electronic deivices that has come along for RV'ing with pets!

    These require access to a wifi router and ethernet cable. I dont have that set up in my RV or trailer.

    It is unlikely that my whole house would heat up and kill my dogs if the AC went out while I was gone for a couple hours. The 13 foot 1972 Shasta Compact could overheat that quickly if for some reason the AC went out.

    When it's cold out - leave your furnace set on a normal daytime temp that you use when there. It it's hot out - leave the air-conditioning set on the normal daytime temp used when you are there. That way if it get hot or cold, based on the weathers and season either the furnace or air will kick on to keep them comfortable. Why would you shut everything off when you leave for a couple of hours.

    Yes, I am looking for something @ $100 or so and that does not need to be network cabled into the wifi system. Maybe somebody in the group actually set something up, using something like this themselves? And my tablet is android, not iPhone. Thanks.
