Was thinking the same when I was watching Matt Lauer talking and in the background where 2 loose dogs running back and forth.
Today an official said rescue was on the scene gathering pets and posting them on the internet to reunite them with their owners.
Good news about finding them. The search and rescue team is going thru each and every house and from what the mayor said they will repeat this process at least 2 more times. So any pets trapped WILL be found. I saw a news report this morning showing one of the National Guards carrying a dog away from a house they had just searched.
