Did it manifest itself in his joints or respiratory?
Usually in older dogs it is respiratory.
Many years ago, one of our pups got it ( respiratory ) and was on fluconazole for years. Think he was around 9 at the time he got it.
Finally, after 1 1/2 to 2 years we got his titre low enough to not take the meds anymore.
He passed a happy old man at almost 15.
It is manageable with the right meds so please don't think of it as an " end of life " diagnosis.
