Oh dear.... I have been a bit out of commission, dealing with another fungus....candida....all summer. My sympathies to you and Calvin.
The good news is that if the pharmaceutical disagrees or does not work, I know of some other stuff that ought to.
Thanks Susan, and everyone for your positive thoughts and prayers. Calvin's doing much better, and the Tramadol seems to be working, but I have the Meloxicam on hand just in case he needs it.
The Fluconazole is messing with his system, but (as advised) nothing unexpected. Nights are the worst for him. However, he sleeps most of the time, but perks up during the day, ... of all things when I'm ready to catch my Z's.
But his DOC say's no ball playing for a few more weeks, and to keep him quiet.
He's scheduled to take some blood to monitor his liver in December.
Thanks again,
Pops
Is the exacerbation due to die off? Hate die off.... but no way to avoid it.
Is he getting milk thistle? Sam-e? Both big for detox and support the liver. Also I take N-acetyl-cysteine both for liver support and because it helps me not feel clogged up in my breathing.
Fungus SUCKS. And it seems like the only thing worse than having it is killing it.
Yes, the boy's taking SAM-e and Milk Thistle for the pass year and a half or so. He also started taking vitamin C, something to do with helping him while he's on the Fluconazole. He also takes Synovi-G4 twice a day (mixed in his food).
Oh, in addition to help him with his stomach problems. He takes an anti-nausea medicine half hour before he eats, and Royal Canin Venison and Potato. Plus I keep on hand another medicine to help settle his stomach when he throws up.
Even if I wanted to adopt another dog, I couldn't afford it. Imagine if the new dog had health problems. I'd really be broke!
