Nash - New Rescue!
No one can replace our beloved Potsie, the minipoo we lost not too long ago, but the house was too quiet, and Maddie was lonely, sooooo...Joe and I went and took a looksee at Atlanta Pet Rescue, and found this adorable little guy. He's a terrier cross of some sort (yorkie mixed with something bigger). He and Maddie are a great pair, and his assimilation into our household has been really good. He was not at the rescue very long - 4 days, so all he'd had done were his shots and a neuter. He hadn't been there long enough to be bathed/groomed, and he was STINKY and hairy. Unfortunately, we couldn't bathe him, because his sutures had to heal. The day after we brought him home, we realized that he also had a mild case of kennel cough, even though he'd just been vaccinated for it (must have been percolating before the vaccination). His sutures didn't look so great either, so we took him to our vet. He was put on an antibiotic and had to wear a soft cone for a week. We covered our couch with beach towels so he wouldn't stink it up - lol!
He's now good as new, so he went off to the groomer this morning for a much needed spa treatment (and his bedding and towels went into the washer)! Here are some photos of before and after his grooming. We think he's going to be a very special boy! The vet estimates him to be between 18 months to 2 years old.
