There are leaders and there are followers. There are times (like loading or offloading a trailer, going through gates, going across streams, etc.) where all you need is one sheep to decide to go and the rest of the flock will likely follow; occasionally one will go (like a lamb) and the others will not follow then the one will come back to the flock. It really depends upon if the one that goes first is a leader; when that happens all will follow. Many times during competition runs you will focus upon controlling the ewe that appears to be the leader knowing that the other sheep will follow.
