Petunia saw the Vet yesterday, he didn't really want to do the blood profile, but we thought it would be a good idea, so he did a blood draw. The results came back today, everything is ok, and so we started the Rimadyl today that he gave us a prescription bottle of 7 tablets yesterday. He prescribed 1/2 a 25 mg tablet once daily. Will see how she is in a day or so.
Yesterday when we told Dr. Meyer that she doesn't jump as high or willing to do a long hike anymore, he sorta hinted that she is older now. So guess will have to admit that in 2006 her "vet-guesstimate" birth year is 2005, and I chose St. Pat's Day as the month & day. So yes, she is almost 9 years old, and may be slowing down.
Almost 4 hours ago I gave her the 1/2 tablet crushed in cream cheese and she spit it out, so put another 1/2 tablet crushed into peanut butter in her dish, and she licked it clean. She does love her peanut butter. She is sleeping without restlessness now.
We did have a big day yesterday after the vet appointment, with a trip into Salem (over 30 miles away), and kind of toured the city going from place to place, shop or store or café, and were again reminded how much we prefer smaller towns. BTW she has a car carrier in which she is buckled.
