I googled kennels in the Roanoke and Salem (the adjoining town) areas and got lots and lots of results. I don't have any recommendations, but that would be a good starting place.
Petsmart is right off of I-581, the main thoroughfare in Roanoke, so that would probably be convenient and they have a pet hotel.
