- 3_dog_nightsExplorerI think a lot of this info is dog specific, A pen works for me, I've got 3 Chihuahua's and take them out for about 10 minutes at a time.
- Pete_kExplorerI have been in a lot of Campgrounds that do not allow dog pens of any kind. Or dogs outside unless with the owner. Way too many people leaving dogs out while leaving for hours. Then the dogs start barking and then the issues pop up. I know its not the dogs fault but the owners that don't care.
Pete - rockhillmanorExplorer IIIf I put my expens on a CG concrete pad I BLEACH the entire pad before I leave.
That said. When you are boondocking many of these dog containment ideas are great...but,
Many CG's will not allow putting up a picket fence or whatever around the side of your RV. AND many CG's have no ex-pens rules.
I don't ask when pulling into a CG but my ex-pens are left in a square configurement because I use expen tops. They are placed "up against my RV", "under the awning". Keeping things neat and tidy and not spread out like you are at home goes a long way with CG owners.
I had a CG owner head over to MH and thought for sure he was going to ask me to take them down. Instead he had never seen such a setup and told me he wished ALL campers with dogs used expens! - jnharleyExplorerI guess I have a different take on these pens. People put them out on concrete pads and let their dogs do their business. The next people who pull in have no idea that dogs have been pooping on the concrete. Yuck! I have yet to see a dog owner sanitize their site after letting their pets defecate on the concrete. Heck, one guy at a military campground just left the stuff lay there for days on end. Yes, I am a dog lover.
- Nutinelse2doExplorerHi. Not sure where you are in AZ but if you are near Phoenix, Ryan's Pet Supplies on SR51 and McDowell has really good prices compared to Petsmart, or try Craigslist.

- NMaceExplorerI have traveled for years with up to 6 hunting and find what we call stake outs works much better than pens, lighter, take up less storage space, easier to setup and put away. And the dogs are much more secure.

Invest some time on a Saturday morning, returns can be amazing! - Coach-manExplorerPetsmart has a great collapsable pen for dogs, you can buy more than one and link them if required! They fold flat, I store mine with no problem in my current 25 foot class C, I do not expect any problems when I finally get my 5th wheel.
