Out Of Town Dog Kennels

This has probably been discussed before but I need the information now.
There are several organizations that grade human hotels: Conde Nast, AAA

I am contemplating attending my – th class reunion.
Are there any agencies that rate out of town dog kennels, say in Greely, Colorado.

  • I would contact some (at least two) rescues in that area--see if they can recommend a kennel or possibly a pet sitter (that can watch you pup(s) in their home.

Other than that there is https://dogvacay.com/ . I've never used them---they have referrals, but not sure I'd really trust them (referrals). One never knows.
  • Depending which breed you have it may do you well to contact the local rescue for that breed and ask which kennels they recommend. We have Jack Russells which not all kennels will take.

A cocker spaniel is easier to board than a pit bull.
  • Yelp

Can't be trusted. Too many issues with bogus reviews.

I would call a vet in the area to see if they have a recommendation.

^ Beat me to it. And some veterinary clinics offer boarding as well.
  • The only thing I don't like about using a vet boarding facility is there is NO one on the grounds at night. If a disaster occurs such as fire or storm your dogs are on their own and it never ends well for them.

A private kennel where the owners 'live' on the same grounds is a safer place to board.

Ditto on call a local breeder rescue in the area you are going to camp at. They most likely will have a pet sitter they can refer you to. IMHO I would most certainly NOT rely on any reviews of a kennel on line.

Ask the owner of the CG you are going to stay at who they would recommend. :C

May be a regional issue, in my neck of the woods many of the veterinary clinics are open 24 hours.
