One Sheltie vs Two Border Collies--No Contest!

So, first the man himself, off duty in his RV.

And now busy making fools of two Border Collies (They are actually all RV friends, but this is when things get serious--no mercy!)

  • The two Border Collies can't seem to get organized, so the Sheltie wins every time!

  • Shelties rock - but so do border collies. Darn, I miss camping! Motel rooms just aren't the same! But we did just have a hitch put on my hubby's Jeep so we can haul our full size bikes instead of the fold up ones, so maybe there's hope yet!

    Rita
    Buttons the princess sheltie
Nicky, the Tennessee Walker who does not camp
Walt, who puts up with us all

Rita maybe one of those 18 foot campers would work. I understand motels just aren't the same. There are a lot of small new campers on the market that can be pulled by most vehicles.

Looks like he is one Happy Camper!

Not shown is the awful truth about what is really going on there. He drops that purple toy on the floor as though by accident, so you pick it up and give it back to him. Then he drops it again. Repeat as many times as possible (as he sees it).

He gives you "the look" as seen in that picture just before he drops it, and waits to see if you are dumb enough to pick it up once again.

Hmmmm. Do you give yourself a dog cookie for fetching, or does he get the cookie?
  • We learned that game with our 1st Border Collie. He also taught us to never throw a toy he was playing with on his own (self entertainment toy) because that toy was from then on only a toy for fetch. We also learned a Border Collie never gets enough fetch; they only get more fit.

Our guys have a different game. Play with a toy next to the couch and then pretend they accidentally pushed it under the couch then looking at us to get it for them. If we ignore their game they start digging to get it out knowing we will play their game to prevent them from scratching the floor or the couch.

Having a smart dog is not always a good thing.

It is embarrassing when the dog is smarter than you are. When your Border Collie gives you the same "look "( I can't believe I ended up with you, etc) that DW gives you at times, that is not fair!

Man's best friend? Ha. DW's best friend is more like it. Double teaming. Water off a duck's back when DW does it (just part of the drill), but the dog too? That's cruel! :)

We know the "under the furniture" game all to well. Gracie, our Golden Retriever, has it mastered! Mama trained.
