Organic food for our dogs?

Since Gretchen has been on prednisone for the last 1.5 years, she has developed quite a taste for wood as a "between meal snack". She has taught Inga to enjoy it as well.

I am not real big on "organic" or "holistic" concoctions, so I was wondering if wood qualifies as either???:@

    The vast majority of it is "pine bark nuggets", which we obtain from our local organic products store, Lowe's. It is spread throughout planting beds in our backyard, making it very convenient for snacking. A small portion of maple tree sticks is also available for their enjoyment.
