Our new girl!

Well we found our new camping member. The DW and kids found her on a pet rescue site. They fell in love with her and we went and looked and brought her home on wednesday. She is very good and quiet. They say she is 2 months, but i think she is 6 weeks? And they didn't know what kind of dog she is, but i did some searching and i believe she is a Kangal. Which is aTurkish gaurd dog for flocks of sheep. She may not be full bred, but it doesn't matter because she is going to be a great dog! Her name is Bailey.

    Oh Geez what a cutie pie...she's going to make a lot of friends when you go camping. Start her young!

    Thanks everyone. And yes, i also believe mixes are healthier than pure breds. Yes she is beautiful!

    She is just too cute.

    Thanks for rescuing and being part of the solution rather than part of the problem of over breeding.

    Being a 'mix" she will probably be healthier than lots of pure breds because of the mixed genes.

    Congratulations! She's a sweetie. I'd guess about 8 weeks (2 months). She looks like she'll end up a nice mid-size at biggest.

    As to breed(s), there are usually more than 4 breeds in any mixed breed dog. Rarely do you find 2-breed mixes (not considering the "designer" mixes). And most mixes consist of the common breeds (because they are most likely to be running loose and randomly breeding).
