I don't know of any campground that does not require pets to be leashed. Why then, do people NOT leash their dogs? If you can control your dog with one word, no problem, but I'm not talking about thos...

True. But those dogs' tails are farther down than what you see on relaxed, happy dogs. They're almost tucked. Plus the video goes for about five minutes and there are almost no wags. Not even when the owner/trainer/whoever he is pets them. The very few wags that do occur are half-hearted and very tentative. OTOH there is lots of subtle and not-so-subtle flinching, and of course the cringing incident I mentioned above.
FWIW -- I grew up with GSDs. My grandparents always had at least two. My earliest dog related memory is playing with a GSD named Brick.
