I don't know of any campground that does not require pets to be leashed. Why then, do people NOT leash their dogs? If you can control your dog with one word, no problem, but I'm not talking about thos...

I think you are reading too much into this. Usually, but not always when a GSD cowers in fear, it is very visible, and not subtle at all.
There is just not enough evidence to make the conclusions that have been made here. But then again, that is common on forums.
That's fine. I have no issues with anyone disagreeing with me. I'm confident in my interpretation, but since you have so much experience training, I assume you know that there are often differing interpretations and opinions of dog body language and behavior.
I certainly agree with your last statement. Two dog trainers can no more agree than two campers. :)
I also want to thank you for your response. It is the way a forum should operate. Name calling and sniping at each other is pointless and useless.
