Having worked in the paper industry for 40 years, I don't care what the "save the earth-tree huggers" say. The point is have something with you that will alert EMT's, etc. that there are pets in another location that need attending to.
BTW, forestry is a managed crop, there are more trees today in north America then when Columbus landed.
Perhaps I should have said "the landfill police" instead of "tree huggers". My point was something written on a map is very likely to be overlooked as just scrap paper in a car that has been totaled in a wreck or would be sitting unnoticed in your car if you have a medical episode in a mall. Notes on a map are a poor substitute for a something you would carry with you at all times.
