I suspect we do not have all the facts. My business has installed many K9 packages that start the car, turn the AC on, open the windows, and even will open the door via remote control. We call that the dobie-o-matic. I have never seen an officer that didn't consider his dog part of the family. They take them home at night. Anyone that has lost a pet can imagine the grief he is feeling. Could have been a vehicle equipment failure.
Just saying. You can't trust anything you read or hear. Just the facts mam, just the facts.
I'm very much with you on this, i am an animal lover myself and would cringe at the thought of someone misstreating or abusing an animal. However the fact is myself NOR anyone on this forum knows the true facts of this case. Every one of us are human and make misstakes. I like YC 1 said it could very well have been equipment failure. I know in this area a few years back one of our large metro police departments lost a K9 officer too the same type of situation. Everyone was up in arms and wanted the office fired and charged. Well when all the facts were out, there was an eqipment failure and that is ultimately what caused the officer's death not carelessness or anything else. I think most of the departments probably has special safety equipment to prevent this kind of thing especially since a police officer never truly knows how long he will be away from his car. The officer in this case was cleared of wrong doing and returned to the department. I'm sure this officer is grieving more than anyone else over this.
