Poor Gretchen got lanced today

Gretchen has had a sebaceous cyst on her left side for the last year now. It has slowly grown to be the size of a golf ball, or even a little larger. Considering her age, or vet has always said to just leave it alone if it is not bothering her. Well, it has not been bothering her, but a couple of days ago a weak spot in the cyst ruptured slightly, and oozed blood and gook. The evidence was on her bed, and on one of the rugs she lays on.

We and our vet decided it was time to do something, and that thing was to lance the cyst. She said she got a tremendous amount of "stuff" out of the cyst, then flushed it out with saline solution, bandaged it with a large telfa pad and gauze, and wrapped her around the middle with a couple yards of cling bandage. :p She is on an antibiotic for the next week as well.
