Drove from Phoenix to Freson for a night, then back AND ...* It's hard to understand how difficult it must be for people to pick up after their dogs! .... UNREAL!* Waking a dog unleashed or leashed, where dogs are NOT allowed. I guess the illiteracy rate in the U.S. is climbing. * Tourist, ..... Well .... I better leave it that, .... Pops, it's the same all over. We had our pups at the dog beach here in FL and a gal came by walking her beast, and the damn thing stopped to dump right in front of us. She turned around looking all embarrassed then kicked a little sand over it. We offered her one of our bags but she refused and walked on. Yes, I picked it up as she walked away with her oversized butt and undersized bikini gigglin' like a bowl of not quite set up Jello.

I especially cringe when I see young kids walking the family dog either at home or at a campground. 99.99% of the time, they don't have/use a poop bag to clean up after Fido -ugh!!

We worked at Walt Disney World and a blind man with a assist dog asked were he could take his dog to do his business. So I took him to a "backstage area". The dog did his business and the man pulled out a bag felt the dogs back and slid his hand to the rear of the dog and them down behind the dog and picked up after him. I stood there amazed. I said I wish I had a video of that to show all folks that come into a RV Park with a dog. He said that when they get a assist dog they are trained to pick up after them. This never occurred to me before I witnessed this with my own eyes. I told this story many times and will never forget it.

This is a real sore subject for me too!We travel with our two female dogs, and I have never ONCE left a pile somewhere EVEN if it's midnight and raining! What fries my feathers are the people who "act" so responsible by daylight (carrying their bags like a badge of honor) but by nightfall they just let their dogs out to download and then don't pick it up. Recently, we were ran into an old coworker while traveling. They had 3 dogs with them. They would let them run loose while they walked down to the beach. Before the dogs would follow their owners down to the beach they'd scurry through other people's camps hiking their legs, and checking everything out. I don't fault the dogs.. I fault their owners (male dogs just do what they do). BUT... they were marking up everything (coolers,tires,table legs) in other people's camps. Anyhow.. they pulled out early one morning and when we got up there were 3 fresh dog piles right in the middle of our camp. That frosted me big time....God bless the "blind man".. responsible!! I might add that the person I'm speaking of above was a physician! Guess he thought the lower class occupants could pick up after their party.

One thing we all forget is people do make legiment mistakes. This happen to my husband one time, although he was guilty of not making sure he had a bag in the poop holder, one of our doggies did there thing about 50 feet from our sight on the side of the road and in the weeds.
He brought the dogs back and got a bag, but by the time he got back to the poop another camper had decided to pick it up for him, and deliver it to our door.

Wonder why some pick up after other's pets? Many years ago I had a neighbor who let his dog out early in the morning and he would trot down to our garage (the door was up about a foot to let heat escape) to do his 'business': I caught the dog in the act one morning so followed him home with a shovel in my hand. His owner was waiting for 'Fido' to come back so I handed the shovel to him and told him to follow me as I had a job for him. He did clean up the mess, without saying a word, and left; about 2 weeks later, I saw him out in his yard and as I walked by, I casually asked where 'Fido' was: without missing a beat he replied that 'Fido' was too much trouble so he had him put to sleep. I was devastated and to this day, have never complained about an errant dog - I just use my pooper scooper and plastic bags.

Oh, sounds great, Calvin! You bein' a Cali dog, and all, that would be quite fitting. I think the job market here is starting to pick up a little, at least I hope it is. Best of luck to you and Pops and Grandma! She will probably spoil her granddog and cook your favorite foods. :B

Not fur certain yet Mrs. Judy. While we were head'in home to Phoenix "Praise to the Man Upstairs" and Pops' friend, Pops got a call. After the call, Pops scheduled a meeting with a Sr. Project Manager who's over see'in a Build up in dah Bay Area.

Anywho's, so now Me, Pops and my Grandma (she's gonna watch me while Pops' in dah meet'in) is gonna be head'in back to Cali next week. This is gonna be the first time I'll get to see the ocean! I heard dah ocean's pretty wet, but Pops said we ain't gonna have time to take me swim'in plus he said it'll be too cold to swim in anyways!

Pops did mention that we'll get to check out the construction site after the meeting. So I'll get to do some recon myself, may be even poop on the dirt to see if it'll keep my scent! Dirt's real important when it comes to poop'in! ...

When I walk 2 of the big dogs and they poop, I can't pick it up and risk being pulled over while I am recovering. So I take a few sacks and rocks. When they "preform" I put a rock in a sack and set it right there. Then I go back without the dogs, take the rock out and pick it up. I have a poop picker upper so I don't bend too far. I tried just putting the sack there and they would blow away and I would spend a lot of time walking the area just to find it again!!

We do LOVE this subject on the forum. It's gotta be in the top ten.

I have those decorative toothpicks with a little frizzy flag on them, I bring them camping. Keep them in my dog-walking jacket. If I'm out with my dog and run out of bags, or I see another bagless dog owner-you guessed it. Mark it with a pretty toothpick, until I can get to it with a bag!!

If you don't get in their face they have no verbal recourse and of course the end result is they are finally forced to have to pick up their poop!
