I know what you meant, rockhillmanor. I just wanted to clarify that I haven't sat back and watched this all unfold. The vet told them it "could be" a uterine infection of the mother that passed on to the puppies. You could be right about the nourishment. This last time they did not know this dog was pregnant (how could you NOT know) and found the puppies when they returned home from an outing. The last of the four lived to open her eyes, then died. So there was no prenatal care, etc. I know nothing about the dogs, where they got them, etc., if they were bought together, etc. I only found out about them when she posted pictures of the "surprise puppies." Then after they all died she posted a sales notice.
And she still has the dogs and is looking for "forever" homes for them. I hope she takes my advice and sends them to rescue.
Hard for us dog lovers (and rescue owners) to see this unfolding.
