I understand (don't agree with) the business model assessment. Our legal system is pretty much set up to agree as animals are considered property. This doesn't make it right.
When you have living, thinking, reasoning, feeling intelligent beings, failing to consider that as part of the business model is just wrong and lacks fundamental characteristics that make us human.
I'm not saying than animal should never be "used" for work, food, breeding, research or any other adjunct to help humans, but that use should justifiable and be as humane as possible and should consider the animal.
