I understand (don't agree with) the business model assessment. Our legal system is pretty much set up to agree as animals are considered property. This doesn't make it right.
When you have living, thinking, reasoning, feeling intelligent beings, failing to consider that as part of the business model is just wrong and lacks fundamental characteristics that make us human.
I'm not saying than animal should never be "used" for work, food, breeding, research or any other adjunct to help humans, but that use should justifiable and be as humane as possible and should consider the animal.

Animals ARE property. Millions of people make their living buying and selling animals. Is that right? Why yes it is. You bought your designer dog. Cattle are raised to be sold, as are chickens. You have to pay taxes on your animals. Some one had to breed the designer dogs y'all have. they make their living selling you those dogs. Animals are a commodity. That we love our dogs, does not change that. People love their horses, and cows, but most often, they are used to make money. Race horses are replaced when they can no longer run, And well, We know what happens to cows.
That this couple wanted a return for their business investment is NOT a bad thing. Read the OP, and you will see they were going to fully disclose the problem with the dogs by warning the new owner's they should neuter them. Would you rather them just kill the pair? Millions of people breed dogs, or y'all wouldn't have them.
Y'all need to get over business people trying to make a living breeding the dogs you buy. As long as they are not cruel to them.
BTW any of you guys use animal products for any thing? You know you do. Right down to your shoes, belts, and the seats in your vehicles. Where do you think that Leather came from :S
