We use a Nest camera with a Straight Talk hot spot. We can both see and hear our pet. We put a thermometer in plain sight of the camera. We use our smart phone to check on her every so often. That way we use less data. Since it goes over the internet it works anywhere we have a Verizone signal.
How much data do you use with the Nest? I recently talked to them, and they indicated the data usage would be extreme.

So easy just plugged it into an electrical outlet. If power goes out or temperature rises in RV you get alerts in email messages, phone calls & text messages on two cellular phones.
We are using it now in Palm Desert, the temp today is 107. - bgumExplorerWe use a Nest camera with a Straight Talk hot spot. We can both see and hear our pet.
