Unfortunately, breed restriction is the way it is. There are many campgrounds that do not have restrictions and we have never had a problem finding one. The campground may not be the one we wanted, in exactly the location, but never couldn't find one.

Sorry, but your Fido might be amongst a well documented group of breeds that are well known to be potentialy aggressive.
We recently moved to a new house (downsized) and to a HOA where they do all the outside maintenance (will allow us to do more RVing.) I just had to laugh at the rules regarding pets.
They restricted all the usual breeds but didn't specify mixes. Then added "and any breed known to bite." Some lawyer or lawyer want-to-be included this totally ridiculous rule/statement. Being a practicing vet for 37 years, I can reliably state that there is no breed that isn't "known to bite." The ones with the greatest propensity to bite are NEVER included in any breed restriction list I have ever seen.
When we got our new home owners policy, one of the questions from the agent was "Do you have a dog?" Then, "What breed?" When I said Golden Retriever, she laughed and said never going to be a problem. While rare, I have encountered Goldens that were as dangerous as any Pit or Rot that were on the aggressive side.
While statistically relevant for insurers (and probably their bottom line), breed restrictions don't really address the issues of dog aggression and the lack of people properly training/understanding dogs.
