Rving with large dog

We are new to RVing and were shocked to find so many RV parks do not accept the larger dogs like Doberman. I spent an hour calling parks in one city without success, they say their insurance doesn't allow these dogs. What do others do with the larger breeds? Is there a website that lists the parks that accept them? Thank you for your help.

This is one thing I ac so against. Consensus my........the people that have this.......forget it I'll just end with this.

Please do not judge my dog by what other dogs have done or will do.

Flame me I don't care. I have just had enough of people judging one by what another has done. Don't look at the dog, look at the other end of the leash.

If a park has any type of breed restriction we look elsewhere. Even if my dog is not on the list.
  • Sadly you will find many parks with size/ breed restrictions. Of course there might be restrictions imposed by insurance providers, or the local AHJ. Perhaps its the camp preference.
Whatever the rule, it is within the rights of that entity to restrict any animal.
Sorry, but your Fido might be amongst a well documented group of breeds that are well known to be potentialy aggressive.
The broad brush of breed propencities cannot be erased with your assurance about your pet.
Good Luck in your travels and in educating those you meet about your amimals

  • With a 'breed that is banned' (Dobie, Rottie, G. Shepard, Pit Bull, Mastif, Chow, Etc.) you will find lots of CG that do not accept them.

Ins. Liability, CG Owners policy, just don't want them .......

Also will run into 'weight' restrictions......over 25#, over 40#

We Full Timed with a 68# Border Collie/Lab mix for 7 yrs. We ALWAYS checked 'pet restrictions' either on websites, phone calls, emails. IF NO....we looked elsewhere. Never DIDN'T find a spot for the evening.

    HERE is a starting place.
