The more I learn about working LGDs the more I find them just as amazing as our working Border Collies.
Jack the Cattle Dog, due to his docked tail, was speculated to have come from an Amish Farm (read: real working dog). While his social graces as far as being a "nice pet" have been questionable - his OCD ability to discern that "something is not exactly where/how it should be" has always amazed me. Through the years, he has alerted to boats either floating away or with a broken tie line or the cover coming loose, car and cupboard doors left open a bit (? He slams them shut with his nose), things that have tipped over... just crazy stuff my other dogs either don't notice or ignore.
