We have a couple things. They started us with Hill's Science Diet.
This food (in a can, not dry) has no substance. I am guessing it is mostly water. The texture, if you want to call it that, is something like solidified bacon grease.
It also has little aroma. They suggested we microwave it for a few seconds. This isn't to warm it. This is to bring out some smell.
They also gave us the cat version of the same stuff. They said it had more smell to it and to put a thin layer of the cat version over the dog version.
I can only assume that they had these suggestions at their fingertips because we are not the only ones with a dog that thinks this is strange stuff.
