I've got Dakota's collar or he does right now. Had since he was a few months old and his favorite balls we play with. He's 14 I think. In good shape and my best friend but when he crosses over I don't know that I want to believe beyond my companion again.
I've considered horses, which live a long time and of course won't fit a Mh.
Up the road a Neighbor has minnature donkeys. the current ones aren't as feisty as the last ones he had. Not sure about getting one. It would be unusual but It won't be sleeping on my bed, if I do.
When Dakota goes I will lose my best friend that has never quarled with me and love me dearly. Won't let strangers near me or wife unless we gain coontrol.
Bad hait of sneaking under the table and sticking his muzsxle upo in my stomach and blowing and nudging. That doesn't do it he get nunder my elbow and arm and flips it until I give him what he wants. If that fails he pokes his muzzle in my side and nuzzles it upward rather firmly. He wants what we eat. He's family so he's entitled to ahmburger, or small piec of stake, or fish, or shrimp. He really likes wife's corn bread sticks. Good enough that we eat them for snacks. He likes biscuits but he takes pancakes out and pulls back the grass and buries them must be something in AuntJamimas mix that shouldn't be there. Waffles he chews on them then burries them.
He takes his tennis balls and throws them at us when we take i to him he plays keep away untile we wrestle it from his and throw or roll and he grabs it again and again. If we won't play with him he has learned to throw it and catch it and to run across the floor bouncing between his forepaws.
I sit down anywhere and he comes to lick me on the pants arms or face if he can reach me. He crowds tightly up next to us and wants his ears tickeled in front of the ears and nose scratched and chin too. He tries to grab us with his teeth and use his mouth as his hand but we have to caution him that it hurts.
I guess it is time to let SILs Austrailan Shepherd a chestnut and white dog in with him. She's a sweet disposition looking for a bunch of sheep to herd. She's AKC and UKC. So when Dakota goes she will still be around for another ten to 12 years if she doesn't pine herself to death. Wife's Aunt died 3 years ago and her little dog couldn't take it and died the next day beside her. So they burried him ,at her feet in the coffin. I'm going to design our headstone and Dakota in the middle of us always looking over us, like he does.
Sorry to rattle on but just sitting here waiting for the pain medication to take hold so I can sleep. Good night
