Sunny's First Big Camping Trip
We took Sunny (recent rescue poodle) and Maddie with us down to the beach a couple of weeks ago, to Grayton Beach SP in Grayton Beach, FL (just east of Destin, FL). We didn't know how Sunny would do on a long trip, esp. with his fear issues, but he did pretty well! He was wonderful in the car - quiet as a mouse in his crate! He did give us a scare the second day though, by getting loose, the little booger. Fortunately, Joe was able to catch him about 5 minutes later, the crazy dog! I wonder where he thought he was going to run off to! I guess he allowed himself to be caught b/c he wondered that, too - lol.
He loved his walks around the campground several times a day, and did fine in the x-pen with Maddie during the early mornings and evenings (too hot during the middle of the day). The beach umbrella over the x-pen for shade didn't bother him like I though it might.
I think he's going to turn out to be a fine camping dog, fear issues and all!
