This is good planning! Ike's hearing failed in his last years, and being able to call him back into the house via waving was super-helpful. He would glance back at me every 30 seconds or so, to see if I was signalling him.
Unfortunately, Jack the Cattle dog lost his hearing AND his eyesight - and tended to bite when startled.... that was just a bad situation all the way around....
