Me to dog: "Go fetch!" Dog: Okayokayokayokayokay!!!!!! ........................................... Me to cat: "Go fetch!" Cat: "Gimme a quarter."

Maybe, but the leech purrs, and buries it's own waste. The companion slobbers, depends on you to pick up it's poop and is known to occasionally eat it (which isn't usually considered a sign of intelligence).

Never seen a bomb sniffing cat.
Never seen a rescue team with a cat."
It's all about motivation. These are all dangerous activities that don't benefit the cat. Make it worth their while and they'll do it.
