It's that time of the year,yesterday while combing out the winter fur on Maggie (a rough coat collie ) found a small tick. SPRINGS ON THE WAY.

After finding a tick in Nov when we were camping (I had stopped treatment), we went to a vet for a dose and was told to start in Feb and continue through Nov.
We're keeping Duncan very short this year. The ticks here are awful to include deer ticks. I miss his Cavalier hair, but it's for his safety and ours.
BTW...what is the consensus on that new collar that protects for 8 months. Any info? Our vet is advertising a chewable that works for 12 weeks. I worry about side effects.
