Travel with Cats

We have traveled with 5th wheels and have now purchased a Class A. We plan to take our cats with us. Anyone with experience on how to handle litter box placement please share. Thanks in advance

  • Funny, I have replied a couple times to a similar post and my advice is still the same. Best solution I ever read was to cut a "cat door" into the steps somewhere and then the litter was in an adjacent compartment. Perfect solution.
  • when we still had the cats, we had a bathroom vanity that we were able to take the doors off of and put the litter box in there. We also removed the bottom shelf to make more room for the cats. Miss our cats, they made it to 19 & 18 and were more well traveled than most of our friends back home.
  • When we traveled with Spook, his litter box went on the floor in front of the drivers seat. The plus was easy access via the drivers door for litter change. He didn't seem to care where it was.
  • We have a covered litter box in the closet. A 6" PVC pipe keeps the door from closing and a bungee cord secures the door while traveling. The PVC is attached to a string which is fastened at the other end so that the PVC doesn't get lost.
  • Litter box where ever it fits. The cats won't care. We have 3 now but 4 in the past (4 was too many, no room left on the bed!).
    Enjoy your furry friends!
  • My wife toilet trained our cat. Its working out great no litter box's and all the stuff that comes with it.

Now if we can just get him to flush well set....
  • I see you're a new poster. This thread may get moved to the Pets forum.

Litter box near foot of bed. Litter-catching rug in front of it.
