We travel with 3 big dogs, 2 huskies and a Norwegian elkhound. We love to walk them thru the campgrounds. We use the 16' "extend leashes" but always bring them in short if anyone is near. We often change our route to avoid others walking their dogs.
You've seen "bear jams" in national parks? You should see a "huskie jam" in a KOA!
Everyone loves these dogs. (almost) Everyone loves to pet them (almost) We have socialized them in campgrounds from when they were pups, and they love the attention. We're still working on the huskies, they sometime get a little "exuberant" and have been known to jump up, they are still young, and and 2 years old. It don't matter much, people look in those blue eyes and it is love at first site.
Riley, our Elkhound, doesn't have the blue eyes, but he is the gentlest sweetest being on the planet. He is happiest in a campground, on his back, with 5 or 10 little kids he's never seen before petting his belly...
