Travelling with a cat?

Our previous moggy travelled all over England with us and we never had to cage her. She was free to roam, but she stayed near our caravan/trailer. Sadly she passed away about 2 years ago.
We have since acquired two Norwegian Forest cats and the one 10 month old neutered male is Houdini reincarnated. Consequently he goes to the cattery every time we go out. The other older one who is a a 14 month old spayed female has been quite good up to recently and she now jumps over the wind breaks. We now have to consider both of them going into the cattery until they are older and more settled or have someone do house sitting and visiting them at home every day.
How many of you travel with a cat and what do you do with your cat when travelling?

  • Cattery is a place where cats are housed while their owners are away on holiday.
  • Assuming "Cattery" is a Cage......we don't use one...we carry bags for our three cats just for an emergency...our cats remain indoors at all times...to many threats to there safety out there, predatory birds, fox, etc...our cats are free in our Motorhome always, they go wherever they want ...the only times we are hypersensitive to there locations are when we are moving the slides in or out....We also have all our cats Chipped....
