I have had Dobermans for more than 40 years. In that time we have had dogs that did not like to get their nails trimmed and some that didn't care. For those that did not like it I found that putting a towel or blanket over their head while they laid on their side we could trim the nails. The nail lentgh can vary greatly with each dog and black nails are hard to judge how much to clip. My suggestion is get a high quality cipper and do it your self and often the dog will tolerate it it more and it will get easier too.
