Most tumors in that area are Perianal gland tumors (hepatoid gland tumor). Huge majority are in males and most are not malignant (although some are). They bleed like crazy when they ulcerate (and also when we do a fine needle aspirate). Most times we can make a very good educated guess by location, size and appearance and surgical removal is preferable (and curative) to multistep approach of biopsy then surgery, IMO.
