Dog food!!!???
Now yuv gonna dunnit :W - MurphsmomExplorerOur last three dogs did very well on Diamond Naturals Lamb and Rice. When we adopted Ollie, he went on that, too. He was itchy and had what we call puddin' poop, so we have changed him over to Earthborn in the grain free fish based line. So far this is agreeing with him. We will see if the itchy problems are food-related as we get a bit further down the road. Pretty much everything else has been eliminated, so we hope this is it. If not, down to the doggie dermatologist he will go.

..."Come & Get It"...- Dog food!!!???
- CA_POPPYExplorerOur old country vet (now at the Bridge) told us he had patients who lived all their long lives on "Come & Get It" and were perfectly healthy. Then again, he had some other patients who were fed the most expensive premium commercial products and had all sorts of medical issues. He speculated that the results are partly genetic and partly just plain luck.

I give them table s****s. They really like those little brittle chicken bones. I supplement that with the cheapest dog food I can find-usually a different brand every time. Boy, does that keep them loose. When we go camping-there's no way I can do a thorough clean-up-I bet the other camper hate me for leaving residue on their campsites. That cheap dog food makes them itchy and antsy. Boy, do they shed and bark-My neighbors complain all the time. It probably doesn't bother them as much when they're inside-but I usually just chain them to a tree. They get mean, too-and try to start a fight with every dog they see.
Does that cover about everything? I don't want anyone to think I'm not a good dog owner!
Seriously: Purina Smart Blend with daily fish oil capsules. Gallons of water.
Yep me to. Except for the Smart Blend and fish oil ****.
Plenty of chicken bones, our dog loves KFC and Pizza Hut.
Dog Chow and Old Roy are the main ones. - dturmModerator

Price doesn't necessarily equate with quality.
Quality = what works in your dog. May be higher price or it may be lower price.
We feed Science Diet Metabolic dry plus Hill's R/D can, we get it at wholesale cost (:B) and it works for Jill. - Go_DogsExplorerI give them table s****s. - DashonthedashExplorerIams lamb and rice. I've had dogs for which it was the only food that didn't give them soft stools. Canidae used to work before they changed their formula years ago.
