Whoops!

This morning our five month old mini schnauzer was out on his morning walk with DH, and after much searching, Mercury finally found what he thought was that one perfect spot to do his job. So, after circling a few times, he squatted down...on a small cactus!

He jumped up and started frantically running around in circles. But he forgot all about what he was doing, and kept pooing as he ran. Of course this was a busy time of the morning, and several other campers watched the entire spectacle as DH try to get Mercury under control, avoid the poo, and get it cleaned up!

By the time they got back to MoHo, DH was laughing about it :B
  • We are in Tucson. He is never off leash except in the campground dog park. We do not take the dogs out on the trails. The campground owners said dangerous creatures are not a problem this time of year.

This happened in the campground. A piece of a cactus had blown onto the road, and he happened to find it.
  • Assume you are camping in the west now with your dog? If so you may want to consider rattle snake shot. Eastern dogs are not familiar with cactus, snakes etc.
