I believe a lot of the problems with Christmas Pets, is that they have often been given as a FIRST pet, and a child may not be ready for it....but the OP has had a dog in the house, only 6 months ago, and they are now looking for a new dog, so I don't think that part of the situation is a problem.
That said, I agree that it may be prudent to wait a bit, and let your Daughter be more involved in which dog you decide to get. After all, you are implying that you are getting this dog for her. Maybe get a book about Dog Breeds and make that a present for Christmas....then you can discuss which dog would be best for the family.
I don't know if I'd say that a Bloodhound was a child's dog, but I don't know enough about them. One of the older folks in our neighborhood has one, and I see her walk the dog around the block from time to time. Seems like a nice enough dog, but I just don't see a child finding this dog exciting.
For a child, I think I'd go with a smaller dog.....a great as Rotties are, they have some issues which may impact your family. They are naturally protective, which is good, except when the dog doesn't realize that you daughter's friends are only playing, when they have your daughter screaming. An attack (even if it is protective) would be devastating.
The Beagle, Poodle (girls just seem to like them, and they are smart as heck), Shelties, Labs, Goldens are all great breeds.
The comment about RV Park restrictions is also valid. I would imagine that you would want to take your dog with you....and that may be an issue with some breeds.
