Xmas puppy ***Picture Update***
We had an 11 year old Rottweiler that passed in July. Maybe now our daughter will see a new puppy for Christmas. We are trying to decide between another Rotty or try a new breed like the Blood Hound...

I got a pure breed hound for free cause the folks that purchased her didn't want her because he was too noisy, backyard was too small and she was too big....go figure :S
I lived in a rural area on 3 acres where she could 'bay', roam and be a hound.
She was the absolute best dog I have ever owned. Loyal, family oriented, gentle, loving and just down right great companion. She was a constant appendage to GF's 8 year old daughter. They love attention kids (or anyone) give them.
Someone mentioned......'stink'....say what. They do have a dog odor but to us she didn't stink.
Ours smelled like any other dog.
They do need a calm strong authority........pack leader can not be meek but you don't have to be mean just firm and consistent.
Takes about 2 yrs before they mellow out especially males.
Great family dog. Needs to be fenced or on lead. Their nose will dictate where they go.......regardless of your call. So they can roam off unexpectedly
