119 degree Sat feed and the Winegard G2

I recently began to use the Winegard G2 portable with good results in Scottsdale AZ. Upon moving the RV to the Santa Barbara, CA area, I am unable to get the local channels. The DirecTV tech said that the locals in the Santa Barbara area come on the 119 degree Satellite, and the G2 only gets the 99, 101 & 103 degree Sats. He says I will need a SWM line 5 type dish to be able to get the 119. Anybody else have experience with this issue?
  • DONN0128 didn't give you the info you need. The G2 WILL pick up both 101 and 119 if the antenna AND THE RECEIVER are setup correctly. The G2 actually CANNOT receive 99 and 103 as that's where the HD programming is. What receiver are you using? Have to verified that the receiver is setup for oval 3 LNB and multi-switch?
  • Problem? Not a problem except you have the wrong dish. Get an oval dish with the correct LNB and SWM setup and you will be good to go.
