- Mike_StanbroExplorer III have been looking into this and just got back from a trip to Frys Electronics. It turns out that all of the Sony BDP-xxxx series blu-ray players run off of 12V. They have the typical 120VAC to 12VDC wall wart adapter. The 12V input jack to the player is a very common type which can be easily found. Just make sure you wire the polarity correctly when you hook it up.
- GdetrailerExplorer IIIYour going have a tuff time finding a "inexpensive" 12V BluRay player.
They DO make them, but they are not "cheap" or inexpensive..
HERE is one for $250.. (I can't say how it works, don't own one)..
If you don't like that price then perhaps try portable BluRay players?
HERE is a portable one for $139
If that is too expensive then simply by a cheapo all in one home style player/surround system and power it from a small inverter.. - Check at some of the major truck stops like Petro.
- ryanw821ExplorerAll set-top style bluray players I've seen have built in power supplies so inverter is only option, the only ones I've seen that are 12v are specific portable ones, and they usually are expensive with 10" or larger screens on them.
For what little power they need I say just use a small inverter when you need bluray and get the cheapest bluray player you can find since you don't want to destroy a nice one with all the vibration of the road. - 2oldmanExplorer IIGood and inexpensive rarely go together, but in this case they might.
The usual recommendation on this board is to get an inverter, then any 'regular' dvd player will work.
