2012 Landmark Satellite/Cable

I have a portable satellite dish that is hooked up and working perfectly.. Rv park also has cable available. I connected a coax cable to the pedestal and to the Cable connection in the UDC. I can switch between cable and satellite but the cable channels are snowy, satellite channels are crystal clear. Is there something else I need to be doing? I don't want to have to disconnect satellite every time I want to watch cable TV. Any ideas? :h

  • I double checked all connections inside and out and all are good. I also used a known good coax. Everyone's around me works fine, I guess I'm the unlucky one.
  • Use a continuity tester and check the cable. Could be a staple or nail driven through it
  • Then I would suspect you have the dreaded "Crappy RV Park Cable" syndrome. Lots of RV Parks suffer from this malady. The only known cure is cubic money for the installation and maintenance of a decent digital cable system. This syndrome is not to be confused with "Crappy RV Park WIFI" which is a totally different condition also requiring lots of cubic money to cure.
  • Yes, I have separate connections for satellite and cable. OTA booster is off. If turned on the picture will be so snowy its unwatchable.
  • Do you have 2 separate inputs in your coach, one for satellite and another for cable or are you trying to share one connection.
Also, if the cable is a separate connection you must turn OFF the power button to your OTA TV antenna to allow cable to pass.
