- MrWizardModeratorOur Safari DP is Aluminum sides, oem fiberglass roof , covered by EPDM
Nose cap is fiberglass
Antenna is now attached to the ceiling, via prototype mount, subject to change
So far still working very well
Watching the Olympics on NBC - fj12ryderExplorer IIIYeah, I kind of figured that, but was wondering about actual experience with a particular trailer. I figure that in a motorhome it won't work as well as in a trailer because of all the sheet metal. I'll just have to try some in the toyhauler and see what works best.

Does it still work well when it's mounted inside?
With "any" OTA you won't know until you try.
Depends whether it's near window, and whether the window is facing where it should, and how strong is the signal outside next to to this window. If it's not near window - then it depends on what material the wall is made of. - fj12ryderExplorer IIICool, thanks for the information.
- MrWizardModeratorIt is Inside on the dash board, it is working very well
It is not on the inside ceiling Yet
I'm thinking it works about the same as the plain wineguard batwing would do in the same situation - fj12ryderExplorer IIIDoes it still work well when it's mounted inside?
- MrWizardModeratorat the moment its not permanently mounted anywhere
i'm thinking of an inside on the ceiling mounting idea
if your in a seasonal site, it could be mounted on a mast outside - fj12ryderExplorer IIII'm interested in something like this because our on-roof antenna no longer works for some reason, bad coax I'm thinking. There's no way to trace the coax or run new because it runs through the ceiling from front to back.
How did you mount this antenna? Outside or inside? If outside how did you run the coax to the tv?
TIA. - MrWizardModeratorSunday 7-31 frys Promo $14.99
i bit, and bought one
well it an't a mini
its full size or real close
the head is 13"+
the wings are 400mm approx 15.5" each
total width when assembled is 35"
No Amplifier, but the specs on box say 7db gain, 60 mile range
i connected it to an Emerson EAN3000 OTA amplifier with (2) outputs
one for the TV one for my PVR/video recorder (same amplifier i have used for several years)
i laid it on the dash for testing,, pointed at Mt Wilson, where the broadcast towers are
anyway, best picture we have ever had in this RV, rock solid no pixelating, no audio stutter/breakup ( we are not in a fringe area, but have always had problems using various in door antennas )
we Never had the roof top batwing
the OEM batwing had been removed by PO because he had satellite in motion dome
here are some pictures - wa8yxmExplorer IIIManufacturer is INLAND
Gain is 5-7 DB they claim but under power supply it says PASSIVE so I'm not sure how they are getting gain, should be 3db over Isotropic for that type of antenna.
Frequency range is 87MHZ up, that does not include VHF-Low but does FM through UHF. (I did not note the high end) VHF low is 50-86 MHZ in case you wonder. or for Television 56-86 MHZ. Channels 2,3,4,5 and 6 (50 is channel 1, a ham radio band).
All information above (Save the band designations and my comments comes from the link the original poster supplied by the way.
