- Johno02ExplorerLiquid filled is good, because it helps stead the needle. Just don't leave it in the sun.
- Johno02ExplorerIt got hot, stuff inside expanded, pressure must have made it leak. When it cooled, stuff shrinked, sucked a bit of air in. Never leave a liquid compass in the sun. Either use it as is, or buy another.
- downtheroadExplorerI have a compass app on my phone...no bubbles.

It's not the cost, it's puzzling how the bubble appeared and I am flustered that I can't get rid of it.
The next one will not be liquid filled. - FizzExplorerNow you can use it as a bubble level.
If you only use it for the satellite dish I wouldn't worry about it. - BobboExplorer IIIA compass is cheap. Buy another.

- rv2goExplorer IINo, The bubble just happen. I use it to point my TV dish. Between stops, it laying on the dash of the MH, the bubble just appeared after a days drive.
- Johno02ExplorerSeems to work pretty good as a magniifer for the little marks.
- CloudDriverExplorerI know that aircraft wet compasses have a rubber diaphragm in the back to allow for expansion and contraction of the compass oil due to temperature changes. An air bubble can provide the same effect, thus protecting the case and seal from over pressure when the oil expands.
